Brief History

     We are one of the oldest Presbyterian churches west of the Mississippi.  Our tradition is long, but we are alive and well, and pushing into the future of our community with the message of Jesus Christ.

1821 - Organized as Bowling Green Cumberland Presbyterian near New Lebanon, MO

1836 - Congregation moved to Otterville area and build a log church, name Pleasant Grove cumberland Presbyterian Church

1857 - Name changed to Otterville Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a new frame building was built.  A picture of it hangs in the back of our sanctuary.

1906 - Name changed to Otterville Presbyterian Church U.S.A.

1910 - The present brick building was built

1958 - Name changed to Otterville Presbyterian Church

1992 - Wear Hall dedicated

1999 - Our current pastor, Rev. Leo Birk, was called

2001 - Poured the concret pad and basketball court in back of the church

2002 - Church remodeled with glass divider and new sound system installed

2003 - Cabinets put in Wear Hall for Storage.
